The HornsKeith Fiala: Trumpet ![]() Winner of the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, Keith’s talents won him a full music scholarship at the University of Texas. Keith has performed at jazz festivals around the world and he rejoins Memphis Train after a world tour with jazz legend Maynard Ferguson. Raul Vallejo: Trombone ![]() Raul was born and raised in Harlingen, in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, grew up watching Lawrence Welk and listening to his father's Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey records, and credits the Blues Brothers' Tom "Bones" Malone with his interest in the trombone, which he studied at the University of North Texas in Denton. Raul’s extensive resume includes tours with Jason Mraz, Kelly Clarkson and Maynard Ferguson and performing alongside Prince. As a founding member of the Grooveline Horns (along with Carlos Sosa and Fernando Castillo) Raul has played with a wide variety of artists including Blues Traveler, La Tribu, Maceo Parker, Greg Boyer, The Scabs, Bob Schneider, Ian Moore and the Grupo Fantasma Horns. Bennett "Otis Lee" Wood: Saxophone ![]() When Bennett was born, his sister insisted he be named Otis Lee. She didn't get her way, but Bennett got a cool nickname. Otis Lee is the newest member to join the Train after moving to Austin from St. Louis in late 2009. While in St. Louis, Otis earned his street cred playing alongside St. Louis' most well respected jazz musicians. His skills earned him recognition as an up and coming saxophonist in the "St. Louis Shoes" competition where he was selected to play alongside St. Louis legend, Willie Akins, and internationally acclaimed saxophonist, Greg Osby. Since moving to Austin, Bennett has played with a virtual who's who of respected Austin musicians and earned a coveted spot in Memphis Train Revue. |
